Nokia's 5800 XpressMusic NAM, formerly known as "the Tube," just recently made it to the states. However, according to a report, the phones are being pulled from stores, in particular the Nokia flagship store in New York City. Why? Nokia needs to talk to Apple about 3G issues. Yep, the phones seem incapable of connecting to 3G, although not in the random, somewhat spurious ways that the iPhone 3G had, at least before the 2.1 firmware. In the case of the iPhone, there were so many theories (AT&T, antenna, firmware, and on and on) that it was impossible to pin down a solid reason. When the firmware update came it, many felt it fixed the issue , or at least improved it.In the case of the 5800 XpressMusic, another Nokia phone next to it will have 5 bars and the 5800 won’t have any. None!Nokia is apparently looking into it, but for now, according to reports, they're selling the European version in its place. Sounds like no one's blaming AT&T for this one, at least.
